Dylan Freechild Interview

Dylan Freechild is a freshman at the University of Oregon. He starts on both sides of the disc for Oregon’s Ego (2011-present) and is one of the teams leading playmakers and defenders.

He started playing ultimate in 2006 as an 8th grader at Roosevelt Middle School in Eugene, OR. He attended Churchill High School before transferring to South Eugene after his freshman year. Freechild captained the South Eugene Axemen to 2nd and 1st place finishes at USA Ultimate High School Westerns in his junior and senior years.

In 2010, Freechild represented the United States in Heilbronn, Germany as an official selection to the U.S. Junior National team where he helped lead the team to a Junior World Championship. He plays club with Portland’s Rhino (2011-present).

This year Freechild was named 1st Team All-Region and Northwest Freshman of the Year.
